Buyers and suppliers will also find invaluable the comprehensive information on company products, imports, exports and capabilities supplied by the many participating seafood businesses in British Columbia.  A dynamic query capability ensures the site has the latest revised data - an important feature in the rapidly changing seafood industry.

International Association of Fish Inspectors - Fish, seafood and associated products that are safe, of acceptable quality and readily available for sale in the world's marketplaces. The International Association of Fish Inspectors (IAFI) is a new and growing organization serving the world fish inspection community. As stated in our Charter, IAFI exists to promote the exchange of ideas and information, foster interaction, understanding and professional collaboration among individuals, organizations, and governments, disseminate knowledge about fish, seafood, and associated products inspection, and promote advancement of the state-of-the-art in fish inspection research and education.

Inter American Tropical Tuna Commission: The IATTC, established by international convention in 1950, is responsible for the conservation and management of fisheries for tunas and other species taken by tuna-fishing vessels in the eastern Pacific Ocean.

Canadian Shellfish Sanitation Program - The Fish, Seafood and Production Division, Canadian Food Inspection Agency: regulates the import and export, processing, packaging, labelling, shipping, certification, storage, repacking of shellfish to protect against contamination and product quality degradation, to maintain source and lot identity and integrity. Suspends operations or decertifies shellfish processors on the basis of unacceptable operating and sanitation conditions.

AVC Lobster Science Centre - a research unit within the Atlantic Veterinary college at the University of Prince Edward Island. Our research is based in the areas of lobster and crustacean science focusing on the health of lobsters as they are a significant part of the economy in Eastern Canada.
